JOB TITLE: Production Assistant

DURATION: 2 weeks, Easter 2014 (TBC)

FEE: Paid

LOCATION: Manchester

BRIEF: After the making of a successful pilot episode in 2013, Staff Room has received a ten episode order and will film later this year on location in Manchester for two weeks. Co-written by Adam Brown and Ryan McDermott the show will also be directed by BBC 3 Funny Hunt award winner Ryan McDermott for Wildseed Studios. The show will be released exclusively online in what is set to be one of the biggest and most anticipated sitcoms to debut online.

We are seeking an ambitious self-starter to join the production team. You will report directly to the Production Manager and assist in a variety of tasks such as co-ordinating schedules and the show’s talent. You will be required to assist in a variety of production roles such as prop management and logging. Multi-tasking and strong communication skills are essential!

You will need to be expertly skilled in social media in particular Twitter, Facebook and YouTube as you will be responsible for releasing daily content from the set during production. You will also be required to assist the production by calling takes and logging shots.

We’re looking for somebody with passion and some experience rather than a qualification in this role. We really want to find a team player who is dedicated and passionate about starting out in the industry.

You would be involved in a wide range of tasks before, during and after filming, which will include:

  • Booking hotels and making travel arrangements
  • Attending production meetings
  • Managing the social media accounts and creating content for release.
  • Copying and distributing scripts
  • Typing and distributing schedules (‘call sheets’) and daily reports
  • Dealing with accounts and expenses.
  • Timing the show in the studio gallery
  • Calling camera shots
  • Keeping records (known as ‘logging’) of shots taken
  • Keeping continuity.
